A little cloak and dagger mystery to read about while sipping your soy latte this morning. According to a United Press article, an unknown action star celebrity recently donated $50K to a long-standing award of $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a UCLA researcher who conducts experiments involving animals. The award is being sponsored by a group called UCLA Primate Freedom–a large animal rights groups.

Apparently, there are researchers at UCLA that are using primates as test subjects for experiments–something animal-rights groups claims violates the rarely enforced Animal Welfare Act. But wait–it gets better–the FBI is claiming that someone left a molotov cocktail on the doorstep of a UCLA researcher (or the neighbor, no one is sure) and they’re offering a $60,000 reward. So, our mystery celebrity just upped the ante to counteract the offer. You can read more about the back and forth here, but take a look at his tidbit:

“Bill Carter, spokesman for the FBI, told UPI animal-rights extremists together with eco-terrorists are responsible for the greatest number of domestic terrorist activities. The FBI lumps the animal-rights groups in with the eco-terrorists because ‘we consider it more of a movement,’ Carter said.”

If you’re reading this, consider your phones tapped.
