When you think of Bob Seger you probably think of the “Like a Rock” advertisements, along with so many classics that he is responsible for. But that exists no more. Seger is now focusing on more eco-friendly vehicles, and eco-friendly messages.

In his new song “Between” from his latest album Face The Promise, Seger sings, “We buy a bigger engine and say it isn’t me.”

On songs like “Simplicity” and “No More,” Seger expresses his concerns about the environment and consumerism, themes that might be surprising coming from a songwriter so closely associated with the automotive industry that he had a 1982 hit titled “Makin’ Thunderbirds.” He admitted to including “a little bit of advice-giving” aimed at his children, whom he recently took to see the global-warming documentary “An Inconvenient Truth.”

Bob, we’ll take the advice, even if it was aimed at your kids!Via – Car Buyer’s Notebook & IHT
